Nokmei Society Lengnyu (NSL) defeated Zenith FC 1-0 in the final to win the fourth edition of the Football Association Noklak District (FAND) Cup for the third consecutive time on Monday.
The final of the 4th FAND Cup 2026, held under the theme “Overcoming the Limits”, was played at the Public Ground, Noklak, and organised by the Football Association Noklak District.
In a closely fought final, both NSL and Zenith FC displayed determination and fighting spirit from the opening whistle. Despite sustained pressure from both sides, neither team could find the back of the net in the first half, which ended goalless.
NSL broke the deadlock in the second half when Muthiu, wearing jersey No. 7, found the net to put his team ahead and lift the spirits of the players and supporters.

Zenith FC responded by pushing forward with increased pressure on the NSL defence. However, NSL maintained a disciplined defensive line and kept their opponents at bay until the final whistle.
Zenith FC could not find an equaliser as NSL held on to win 1-0 and retain the FAND Cup title for the third successive year.
The individual awards went to Nengpao of NSL (Young Star), Liang T of NSL (Golden Boot), Kumzuk of NSL (Golden Glove), Pathong of Zenith FC (Golden Ball), Pupui of Zenith FC (Most Promising Keeper), Longshen of Valiantus FC (Best Midfielder), Tsngthong of Zenith FC (Best Defender), Lamsong of Khaokhan Youth Organisation (Best Striker) and Muthiu of NSL (Most Motivational Player).
The special guest at the closing ceremony, MLA Imtichoba Chang of Tuensang Sadar-II, recalled the legacy of Khulio King, a popular football club, and said, “We know Khiamniungans as footballers.”
He urged the players to turn their passion for football into a career and remain prepared for the prestigious Dr T Ao Trophy. He also advised youths to stay away from intoxicating substances and encouraged them to make positive choices.
Referring to the different tribal communities residing in Noklak, Chang called upon the people to maintain peace and harmony.

FAND president Okie acknowledged the progress of football in the district despite inadequate infrastructure. He challenged the players to push beyond their limitations and consider football as a potential career.
Describing football as a beautiful game loved by many, he urged the players to pursue the sport with dedication and commitment.
Khiamniungan Tribal Council president Ngon encouraged the players to continue playing and polishing their talents and skills. He also appreciated Zenith FC and NSL for reaching the final and contributing to the competitive spirit of the tournament.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Hongmo Lam and Lamniu K Lengnnio presented a special number, while Thangsoi M Khiamniungan delivered the words of gratitude.
