Kohima, October 30 (MExN): As part of Amrut Ki Azadi Mahatsov, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) organized two-day State level training for Area Coordinators (ACFIs) and District Coordinators (DCFIs) from 74 blocks and 11 districts respectively on universal Financial Inclusion on October 27 and 28 at Dimapur.

Abinash Hembrom, Convenor, State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) & AGM SBI RBO SBI Dimapur, graced the inaugural function. He addressed the participants on the role of Banks and prioritization on financial inclusion by the present government of India. He shared on the norms of banks laid down by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) with special reference to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) nurtured under Nation Rural Livelihoods Mission.

He expressed happiness on the successful movement on poverty alleviation by the NSRLM through financing of SHGs by the financial institutions. He said the rate of non-performing assets by women SHGs is minimal so far. He acknowledged Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NStCB) for providing highest number of financing to SHGs in the State. 

He appealed the FI officials to continue true dedication as being the facilitator between the Bank and SHGs and take the right message to the grass-root for 100% inclusiveness.

Resource persons were Rameshwar Singh, Chief Manager (Financial Inclusion) SBI from RBO Dimapur; Joshua Swu, Sr Branch Manager & President of Officers & Employee Association NSCB; Balram, AISO from NSCB; Lanusosang Jamir, State Head, Common Service Centre (CSC); Siddhartha Dey, Project Manager, Sanjivani Vikash Foundation Ltd.

The resource persons from the banks spoke on banking norms, credit linkage, online loan application and enterprise financing, while the corporate business correspondents (CBC) emphasized on important role of business correspondent-digi pay Sakhi—alternate banking, digital finance and dual authentication. 

Sokhrienuo Rupreo, Area Coordinator, BMMU Jakhama, spoke on social inclusion & social development, GPDB Plan, gender etc.

Other topics were credit linkage, support mechanism like facilitation of service in bank branch by Bank Sakhi, month meeting of community based repayment mechanism (CBRM) for 100% repayment of loans, training SHGs on financial literacy, enrollment in insurance schemes, deployment of Bima Sakhi and reporting (MPR) & monitoring etc. 

The training also reviewed the achievement of the first half of FY 2021-22 with presentation of reports by DCFIs. The training was coordinated by Rajuselie Lhousa, State Program Manager for Financial Inclusion (SPM-FI) from the State Mission, stated a press release.
