NSRLM Wokha disseminates info on schemes for rural households

Section of gathering attending the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission Wokha Block first financial inclusion mela held on February 5.

 

Wokha, February 8 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) Wokha Block held its first financial inclusion mela on February 5.


It was conducted at the Town Hall, Public Ground, Wokha with a total of 380 participants. This initiative by the NSRLM was its maiden voyage into the exercise of financial inclusion, stated a press release received here. It maximized coverage of the programme by converging with different allied departments and banks that disseminated crucial information about the different schemes made available for rural households. 


The first speaker Samuel Ngullie, Additional District Program Manager Wokha encouraged towards working together to achieve the goals and objectives of the community as a whole.


A detailed overview of the NSRLM Block status was succinctly summed up by Block Program Manager Nzanbemo Patton. He exhorted all the attending SHGs to avail the schemes available to them.


Resource person Neibounuo Suokhurie, Branch Manager (NRB) Nagaland Rural Bank highlighted on the importance of Savings accounts and shared on the process and benefits of various schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY.


Emilo Ovung, district coordinator, Social Welfare gave information on the maternity benefit program (PMMVY) being implemented by the ministry of women and child development, adding that there are about 1019 beneficiaries in Wokha block availing the scheme.


Viroko Thapo, BPM Wokha from Medical department talked about various Medical insurances and benefits which included Ayushman Bharat Yojana and JSY (Janani Suraksha Yojana). 


NStCB Branch Manager, Masheto Nandu also briefed on the total number of SHGs availing loans from NStCB, and sensitized the public on awareness of hoax bank phone calls and messages.


Y Shanchobeni Humtsoe, Horti Inspector, Department of Horticulture shared on livelihood opportunities for women under the MIDH Scheme for the holistic growth of horti sector in different production.


Sentinaro Alley, MD (R&D and Marketing) from Zatara Pvt. Ltd also sensitized the public on the objectives of the brand.


Dr BL Mhalo Tungoe, ACTO KVK shared on various training programmes provided off campus and on-campus by KVK and informed the SHGs present on the upcoming training on horticulture.


Livelihood Expert from Forest Department, Abeno Ovung while reminding the SHGs on afforestation also shared about the JICA project.


Tsuro SHG, Lumro VLO, Wokha Village also shared their success stories. Earlier in the programme, invocation was done by Yireni Ngullie, President Sharon VLO Vankosung. Yanchanka VLO, Longsachung presented a cultural song. Vote of thanks was delivered by H Wophyomo, Area Coordinator-SISD, Wokha Block, while the programme was chaired by Thungcibeni Mozhui Area Coordinator-FI, Wokha Block.
