DIMAPUR: Minister for Transport & Communication, Labour and Employment, Imtilemba Sangtam visited his constituency on 29 and 31 October.
During the course of his visit, he attended USBLA Revival Crusades for elected Members, Ex- elected members, Sangtam Gazetted officers, Village Head GB’s, Village Council Chairmans and Church leaders at the Yangli Mission Center which was jointly sponsored by Imtilemba Sangtam and Kipili Sangtam, M.L.A and Parliamentary Secretary.
On the 30th evening the Minister had also attended the Father’s Seminar at Longkhim Town Baptist Church, where he expressed his hope that the seminar would bring about positive changes in the life of every father who attended.
On the 31st of October, the Minister inaugurated the NST Bus Services at Old Tsadang Village to Tuensang and Alisopher Village to Tuensang.
He also held public meetings in both the villages and said that transport and communication was vital for economic up-liftment of villagers and expressed his confidence that with the introduction of bus services, the economy of the area would be improved, and encouraged the villagers to give more importance towards farming as their products could be easily disposed-off thereby enhancing their economy.
He also urged the villagers to help the Department in enforcing the Department’s rules and procedures for smooth continuance of the bus by stating that the NST Bus Services are social services which charges the minimum fare as compared to the private transporters.
A release issued by L.S Sangtam, P.S to Minister Transport & Communication, Labour & Employment states that many changes such as the creation of two new departments DUDA and Women development and also the declaration of the ‘Year of Women and Youth’ and the policy of farmers are in the offing.
During the Minister’s tour, he was accompanied by M. Sangtam, Joint Director, Employment, L.S Sangtam, P.S to Minister (TPT), D.G.M (T) NST Dimapur, Additional. C.E (Central Workshop) Nagaland State Transport Dimapur, Lithrongse Sangtam A.G.M, (NST) Tuensang, Dist. Enforcement Officer, Tuensang, Sethrongchum, Vice President B.J.P State Unit, A. Wopen Lotha, ADC Longkhim, Sekyuchum, Vice Chairman and Members of Town Council, Longkhim besides village elders of the area.
