NTCP review meet held in Phek

Phek, December 11 (MExN): The first District Level Co-ordination Committee (DLCC) review meeting for National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Phek was held at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Phek under the chairmanship of Imliakum Sanglir, EAC Phek on December 9.


According to a DIPR report, the Chairman stressed on the importance of proper co-ordination and co-operation of all members in making the National Tobacco Control Programme a success.


District Nodal Officer, NTCP, Phek Ruyosalu Lase Vizo gave a powerpoint presentation on the various awareness programmes and activities taken up by DLCC, Phek. The house discussed on the actions to be taken up by the enforcement squad and decided that enforcement drive be conducted at the earliest.


SDO (C), Phek Zhoi Lohe emphasized on conducting more awareness programme and stressed on the importance of awareness programme to be conducted in schools and colleges not only in the District HQ but also in other Administrative HQs as well. He also challenged Phek Government College to become the 1st Tobacco Free College in the District. SDPO, Phek, James Ovung stated that proper information should be given at the grassroots level as well.
