DIMAPUR, MACH 12 (MExN): The Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) has submitted a representation to the Nagaland Chief Secretary demanding cancellation of alleged “backdoor appointments in the Police Department.”
In its letter, the NTUCT President, Lhousiti Khro and Vice President, Akum Imchen alleged that there has been “gross manipulations in the matter of appointments of various ranks and constables in the police department in the recent past.”
Citing an RTI reply, dated February 24, the NTUCT alleged that there were 999 “bogus/backdoor appointments.”
The total number of constables appointed as per the RTI reply was 930 whereas the posts were actually advertised for only 206 vacancies and not 272, the union said. It further informed, citing information from the RTI reply, that 205 personnel were recruited through open recruitment as per the final result. The union thus claimed that the total number of appointments was 1204 while the total post vacancy was 494.
