Kohima, November 21 (MExN): In commemoration of the Silver Jubilee, Nagaland University, Department of Geology, Kohima Campus, Meriema will be conducting a National Workshop on ‘Sequence Stratigraphy and Basin Analysis’ for Assistant Professors, Young Scientists and Research Scholars engaged in teaching and research in Sedimentology and Petroleum Geology from November 26 to 30.
A press release from the Department of Geology stated that the applications of Sequence Stratigraphy and Basin Analysis for exploration of petroleum and other energy resources will be discussed in the workshop by experts drawn from the IITs, Universities and Directorate General of Hydrocarbon, which will be followed by practical exercises.
Participants from various parts of the country will be taking part. The academic event is sponsored by the Nagaland University and Oil India Limited and is also supported by the ONGC Ltd. and Aimil Ltd.
Professor Pardeshi Lal,Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University will grace the Inaugural programme as Guest of Honour on November 26 in the Ladies Common Room, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema at 10.00 am.
