The annual Techaura organized by School of Engineering & Technology, Nagaland University (NU-SET), Dimapur began on October 29 at the premises of its institute.


Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along who could not attend the programme as the special invitee deputed his OSD. In his message read out by the OSD, Along stated that a festival such as Techaura opens avenues for the students in exposing their talents while putting the learned knowledge into practical. It also enhances creativity and motivation conglomerated with learning, he added.


Along encouraged the students not to be dragged behind by the daily problems they face but remain focused at their dream. He told them that the need of the day was to be a responsible citizen and to be a leader accepting challenges. He also advised the students not to expect too much from others as that would lead them to disappointment. “It is always better to work hard sincerely asking more wisdom from God,” he added.
Dean NU-SET, Prof SK Sharma also exhorted the students during the programme. 


Techaura is a national level annual technical festival and over the years, the festival has evolved providing a better platform not only for NU students but also for the diverse young minds of India. Derived from the word “Technology” and “Aura”, it seeks to promote a sense of awareness in the current social and technological scene of the world.


Various technical competitions, presentations, exhibitions, seminars, cultural shows, model presentation etc would be held during the festival which will culminate on November 1. The Techaura 2019 is being organized under the theme, “Cybernetic Vision.”
