According to a press release, the church stated that spearheaded by the Social and Environmental Concern Committee of the church, its members and fulltime workers went about sanitizing the entire church complex.

According to the Pastor of the Church, Kilang Longkumer, in the midst of scare and doubt among the worshippers created by both fake and genuine news about the Coronavirus, the members of the Committee has decided to kick start the multi-faceted campaign, especially sanitising the church complex on March 18 “so as to dispel their fear and focus their hearts and minds on the Word of God.”

This exercise will be carried out every Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays when the Church conducts worship services.

The church, Sunday school, children worship centre buildings as well as the church bus will be sanitised on a regular basis.

Having observed that children are more prone to COVID-19, the committee will distribute specially designed and stickered children’s masks to the Sunday school children.

All the worship centres and Sunday school of the church will be provided with hand washing facilities and hand sanitizers. Special demonstration for Hand washing techniques will also be carried out for the benefit of the Church members and other settlers of the village.

Posters and placards containing vital information will also be displayed at vantage points in the village to generate awareness pertaining to the dreaded disease.

Kilang further informed that the church would also work towards preventing spread of fake news and assist the government and other agencies in disseminating authentic information to the general mass.
