NWHD holds seminar on women's health, mental well-being

Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) organised a seminar on "Women's Health and Mental Well-Being" at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur on Saturday to create awareness about women's physical health, wellness and mental well-being.

The seminar featured two sessions focusing on midlife health and mental health among women.

The first session, "Life After 40: Four Pillars of Midlife Care", was conducted by Dr Emmanuel L Yanthan, consultant gynaecologist at Evita GyneCare Clinic.

He spoke about physical and hormonal changes during midlife and stressed the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and regular health check-ups.
The second session, "Anxiety and Depression in Women: Recognition & Support", was conducted by Lovitoli Awomi, counselling psychologist and founder of Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-Being.

The session focused on recognising anxiety and depression among women and the importance of seeking timely emotional and professional support. 

The seminar provided participants an opportunity to gain practical knowledge and engage in discussions on issues concerning women's physical and mental health.

The NWHD expressed gratitude to the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, the Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dimapur, and Dr Emmanuel L Yanthan for their contribution of medicines and first-aid support for participants.

The organisation also thanked Niholu Ayemi, OSD Transport, Government of Nagaland, for his contribution and support towards the conduct of the seminar.

The NWHD also acknowledged the contribution of the two resource persons and participants for their active participation in the programme.
