One Stop Centre Wokha observes first anniversary
DC Wokha along with OSC staffs, Lotha Elo president and Lotha Students’ Union president during the third consultative meeting cum celebration of one year anniversary of One Stop Centre Wokha.
Wokha, March 19 (MExN): Third consultative meeting cum celebration of one year anniversary of One Stop Centre (OSC) Wokha was held at DC Conference Hall, Wokha on March 19.
Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Orenthung Lotha who is also the Chairman OSC Wokha in his keynote spoke on how women and girl child can be assist through OSC when they are facing violence in all aspects related to social and family. OSC is a new concept and in the earlier stage there were some challenges, yet today through various awareness and programmes conducted by OSC, he said and added women are coming up to raise their issues and seek guidance.
He encouraged the stakeholders, NGOs and civil societies to educate the masses and disseminate the information on how and what the OSC works for the women facing violence. The DC also asked for suggestions for better implementation and to reach out every nook and corner in the district.
President of Lotha Eloe Hoho and Lotha Students’ Union also spoke during the programme, while power point presentation on the success story and functioning of OSC Wokha were presented by team of OSC and MSK.
Discussion hour was deliberated in length. OSC Wokha informed that within a year they have received 16 related cases which were taken up by the department.
Earlier, introduction and presentation was done by Renthunglo Kikon, special centre administrator, OSC Wokha, with special number presented by Merithung Patton district coordinator, DLCW-MSK.
The programme was chaired by Mhathung L Kikon, IT staff, OSC and invocation by Thungbeni Kikon, case worker, OSC.
