The Kacharigaon Phevima Students’ Union (KPSU) today celebrated its silver jubilee at Panchayat Hall, Kacharigaon Phevima with IG Fire & Emergency Services, Kohima, Neilasa Sopfü as the special guests.

Addressing the gathering, the guest applauded the far sighted founders of the village and KPSU for firmly sowing the seeds of foundation. However, he lamented that the success rate among the community is “too marginal and it is all due to the lack of qualities of dedication and sincerity.”

He was of the opinion that there is a great challenge for the present generation due to decreasing natural resources but at the same time asserted that this could be tackled with the human resources within the educated lot.

He challenged the students to identify and focus on their goals and pursue it while determining that only hard work and perseverance can bring success.

“Only wishful thinking cannot bring desired results and students cannot afford to be complacent,” he said while recommending the need of brainstorming sessions within the educated lot to bring resourceful results.

Kacharigaon Phevima Village Council (KPVC) Chairman, Vitho Zao in his speech strongly advocated for a change in the current educational system in order to deal with the challenges of the prevailing unemployment issues. He also emphasized on skill development programme to counter-challenge educated unemployment.

KPSU founder Lorhehol Neikha and first general secretary, Agnes N Phewhuo also spoke during the occasion.
