•-In 2009 along with other states of India, Nagaland was also badly affected by Drought. Many farmers have suffered. Problem was discussed in both houses (Parliament). Centre has agreed and sent some team; they have verified the effected places. Accordingly, Government of India sent some money to our state.
This matter was discussed during 2010 Assembly Question hour. Reply was made by Home department. Drought - It happen only sometimes, not always like other natural calamities. We can say once in a blue moon.
So, we would like to say that money which has been sanctioned by the centre should be released immediately since it is running three years (longest file movement in the history) List of affected farmers during 2009 was submitted by respective administration and different department is also lying in home department (Relief and Disaster Branch, Nagaland, Kohima)
