•-With due respect, we the public of Longtho would like to bring to your notice a few points for your necessary action concerning the newly constructed building of Police Station at Longtho, under Mangkolemba Sub-Division, District, Mokokchung. The above mentioned Police Station was set up in the year 1988/89 and ws known as “Police Beat Post, Longtho” until recently which is going to be inaugurated as a ‘Police Station’ soon; whereas the sign-board displayed on the new building reads it as “Police Station Tzurangkong.” This is totally provocative, unjustified and injurious to the good will of Longtho public because Longtho does not come under Tzurangkong, geographically or socially.
It is well understood that the jurisdiction of its (Police) duty may well span beyond the borders of Longtho for the safeguard of the area public in general, but since the said Police Station lies well within Longtho, the writings on the sign board should read as “Police Station Longtho’ and not as displayed on the board.
Therefore, we the public of Longtho would like to urge your esteemed authority to rectify the error and take necessary action so that this matter does not spark off into a grave issue and become a cause of tension in the region.
