•-Well, cheers to NSF’s initiative and effort it is with a sigh of relief that I can to say ‘finally’. This writer may appear to sound slightly sceptical of NSF’s intentions/motives. So why? Because (I’m sure most people will agree) in the past years , due to ‘inactiveness’ on their part i.e. not giving greater importance where it is due—on students and unemployment problem, many had lost faith in NSF.
As we all know, a student body is one of the strongest pressure group there is and will be successful in letting the authorities to decide what is best for our future generations if the goal is wholly devoted to deliverance of quality education/education system, job reservation policy and illegal migrants etc or in a nutshell ‘solely for students’ welfare. Now that the newly elected NSF members seem to have started on the right note, may they fulfil what they are aiming for and definitely for the good of our future generation and a better Nagaland.
Having said that, since NSF is openheartedly seeking the opinions of the people during its goodwill tour, this writer would like to put into words some wishful thinking which may or may not be accepted (knowing fully well that the following musings (personal) will invoke bloodcurdling paper wars if misconstrued).
1. If only eastern Nagaland or any others do not seek another frontier Nagaland but merge and unite as Nagaland Students Federation or Nagaland Student Union Delhi etc. we can always represent as Nagaland body in the ‘greater Naga’ bodies anytime and anywhere. So why not first unite within the parameter of a state instead of carrying extra baggage?
2. If only NSF becomes the strongest successful pressure group for adopting area wise and not tribal wise reservation, totally oppose job reservation for selected few and review reservation policy. Who knows shortly we might read or hear another organisation or group coming up as Non-Easterners or Non-Tenyimias demanding for another reservation.
