
Phek | September 23 : The callous attitude of the State Bank of India (SBI) Phek Branch has surprised the Phek town denizens, where customers specially students’ in need to apply for their post metric scholarship were inadvertently facing extreme problems. The Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) while expressing their resentment further questioned the branch as to why ‘step motherly treatment’ is being imposed to the dwellers of the town and its neighboring villages.
Talking to The Morung Express, the PTCSU official disclosed that limited issuing of Account Opening Forms hampers the daily affairs of the public and the students’ community at large. Stating a villager of a far flung village after spending much amount of money and time just to get a single form had to leave without availing the same.
The union official further revealed: “…as post metric scholarship payment is mandatory to be credited only against certain account number, students despite without attending their regular classes standing in queue could not avail it getting comments there is no more forms.”
The PTCSU also stated that some employees of the bank were reportedly harassing the customers using slangs.
The union official stated that being educated citizen it is the sole duty of the employees to help the public and not to harass adding that one should know how to behave with the public in a civic manner in civilized society. Slamming the branch staff of being maintaining inefficiency, the PTCSU stated that due to lack of poor work distribution, things supposed to have completed in a day were kept pending for even two to five days thereby killing the precious time of the public. The PTCSU, therefore, expect more cooperation and better communication with the customers in the near future.
