
Jalukie, December 10 (MExN): Several organizations today condemned the killing of Totalakpe Kenn (18) whose body was found in an irrigation canal near a paddy field in Jalukie-B Village on December 9 around 5:00 am. An FIR was lodged at Jalukie PS the same day at 12:00 noon and post mortem was done at 3:00 pm at Civil Hospital, Dimapur, according to press releases.
DVCN: Ichiau Kenn and Puilungbe, the Chairman and Secretary respectively of Deukwaram Village Council (DVCN) in a press release expressed shock and anger over the killing of the youth. DVCN has urged the competent authority investigating the case to take up all necessary means to deliver justice at the earliest time possible, “failing which, the villagers of DVCN will be forced to initiate retaliatory action as deemed fit.”
LMN: The Lekie Mtei Nko (LMN) in its condemnation strongly appealed to the investigation agency concerned to expedite the investigation and award befitting punishment to the perpetrators. President of LMN, Hiarwetlang urged the investigation agency to execute immediate necessary investigation without any bias. Failing which, the LMN cautioned it will not be held responsible for any untoward incident arising out of the case in the future.
PSU: The Peletkie Students’ Union (PSU) asserted that such crime should be condemned by every right thinking citizen and that exemplary punishment must be awarded to those responsible for the dastardly act to avert recurrence of such crime in the society. In a press note issued by its president, Bamsina Chamlak and general secretary, Iliegongbe Miliang, PSU further appealed to the investigation agency concerned to immediately and efficiently conduct the investigation and deliver justice at the earliest. The union warned that it will take up its own course of action if it fails to deliver justice.
PVC: The Peletkie Village Council (PVC) also condemned the killing and urged upon the investigators to expedite the investigation, “failing which the PVC will be forced to take up the matter as deemed fit.”
