Kohima, October 22 (MExN): A one-day orientation programme for ‘Implementation Support Agency (ISA)’ on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was held at the conference hall of PHED Directorate, Kohima on October 22.
The programme was chaired by Er Leyang Khiamniungan, Superintending Engineer (P&T) while Er Repangyangba Longkumer, Chief Engineer, HOD PHED delivered a briefing on JJM.
‘Roles and Responsibilities of ISA’ was presented by Lhousikhono Zinyü, State Sanitation & Hygiene Consultant which was followed by an open discussion with the participants.
The closing remark was delivered by N Thsathrichem Sangtam, Chief Engineer, Sanitation and WSSO PHED.
Roles and responsibilities of ISA deliberated during the programme included; Design Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) to undertake awareness generation activities in project villages, Coordinate with the government and district level departments to ensure, effective monitoring and process-based implementation with community participation, create awareness among Water and Sanitation Committee (WATSAN) and other community members (especially women) about Water safety and Security; Water Conservation; Water quality monitoring and surveillance; operation and maintenance; and Social behavioral change communication, conduct training and capacity building programme for WATSAN about various aspects to promote adoption of Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) by every household in the village as per a stated schedule, among the others.
