Kohima, November 20 (MExN): The orientation workshop on National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) inaugurated by Vikho-o Yhoshu, Speaker was conducted in the Conference Hall of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly with the participation of officials from IT, NIC, parliamentary affairs and officers and staff of Nagaland Legislative Assembly on November 19 and 20.
It is expected that within a year, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be fully automated with NeVA and with the support of the Central Government, Commissioner & Secretary, N Benjamin Newmai stated in a press release.
Mukesh Kumar, Under Secretary & NeVA Convenor and Priyanka Barthwal, NeVA Coordinator, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India were the resource persons for the workshop.
The e-Vidhan is a Mission Mode Projects under the Digital India Programme, Government of India on the theme of ‘One Nation One Application.’ National e-Vidhan Application is to be implemented in all the states/union territories legislative locations. It is a sophisticated e-governance solution, which fully automates the functioning of legislatures and significantly minimizes paper usage with online communication, which is in line with the ‘Go Green’ initiative of the Government of India.
The NeVA solution is for the purposes of paperless house sessions where in, papers are laid online in the House using touch screen on the tables of members; online submission of questions/notices by members and online processing of questions/notices; online sending of questions/notices to the departments/members; automation of assembly committees’ meeting agendas, replies from departments, assurances, audit paras and questionnaires.
NeVA mobile app is available for download from play store and app store for Android and ios Mobiles. NeVA is a Member-centric application.
He stated that it is not simply a website but a work-flow based App deployed in Cloud (Meghraj) for managing the functioning of the House, including preparation of LOB, Q &A and other related documents as under: List of Business (LOB), Notices, Bulletin-I, Bulletin-II, Starred (Unstarred Questions including replies by the Government departments (Q&A), Bills: Introduction/Consideration and Passing, Synopsis of Proceedings, House Proceedings — Verbatim, Committee Reports, Rules and Procedures, Digital Library, Provisional Calendar, Reference materials, Rotation of Ministry, Contacts, Budget, Press Release, and Secure page for each Member of the House for submitting Questions and other Notices.
