‘Our students should aim higher’

Jalukie, Nov 7 (MExN): The Christian School Jalukie Celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the presence of thousands of people with great joy and enthusiasm.

Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, Vatsu Meru, MLA, in his speech emphasized the need and importance of a school.

Acknowledging the contribution made by the pioneers of the school, Vatsu said that the people should honour and salute these pioneers, for their dedicated and great services towards the society.

He also urged upon the teachers not to take their respectable jobs as a noble profession but as an honour.

“Our students should have a purpose and aim much higher, they should be made to achieve their goals through hard work and go for specializations, we should not be jack of all trades and master of none” said Vatsu.

He further stressed on the need and necessity of education and called upon the people to become a ‘knowledge-hunter’.

Several important dignitaries who attended the occasion included Denise Elung, President Zeliangrong Baudi (Hoho), Bangdi Iheilung, Ex MLA, EAC Ngualwa, Gaubeu Rangkau, Chairman JTC, S. Chuba Ao BDO Jalukie, Rampaukai Mpom Jalukie Forest Ranges Officer among others.

The highlights of the day long celebration included Drill display by the students, cultural songs and dances.

Meanwhile, on his way back, Vatsu also visited the District Level Exhibition which is underway at Jalukie Town and being sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
