Over 500 participates in Kiphire Poshan Maah Rally

Kiphire, September 16 (MExN): Poshan Maah Rally was flagged off by Sarita Yadav IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire on September 14. The rally started from the Deluxe Point Kiphire and marched towards the Hopongkyu Memorial Hall with the participation of around 500 people in the rally.


According to a DIPR report, speaking to the gathering, Sarita Yadav highlighted the importance of National Nutrition Month from September 1 to 30 and also informed that the Poshan Maah is a massive movement in the country to do away with malnutrition problems of the people. She urged the line departments to continue to work in convergence so as to uplift the health and nutritional status among the children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers of Kiphire district.


The programme was chaired by Linnette Kedila, Poshan Abhiyaan District Coordinator; and overview of the programme orientation was done by Itulungbe Ndang, DIO Dr. Pewezo Khalo spoke on the prevention of anemia for the pregnant women and adolescent girls and also mentioned about the five critical components of Poshan Abhiyaan: 1000 days of the child, anemia, Diarrhoea, hand wash & sanitation and Poshtik Again. Later DEO Kiphire, Deenabandhu Panda highlighted about the adolescent health and education.


The rally was led by Z Tsangkhuchu, CDPO (DWO) in-charge Kiphire with the Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, adolescent students, ward chairman, health workers, teachers and women organization.
