PAC reveals illegal collections by state & non state actors

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 9 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) of the Naga Council Dimapur today publicly issued its findings on illegal collections being carried out by both state and non state actors. (See table)

In a public meeting on December 9, the PAC reviewed the overall situation in regard to the multiple collections of money and urged the authorities in concern to act immediately.

It decided to pressure the State Government to introduce  and enact Criminal Control Act in the in the coming winter session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The bill, PAC informed, was submitted to the State Government on September 9, 2019.
Failure to do so would compel the PAC to take its course of action till such laws are enacted, it stated.

The house also resolved to remind the district administration to immediately notify the District Level Price Monitoring Committee's report in the public domain and in public interest.

It further resolved that “every tribe should arrange a standby of 10 volunteers from every tribe to meet emergency requirements of manpower for tackling emergency issues.” Towards this, it asked every tribe Hoho to submit the volunteer’s team leader’s name and contact number on or before December 20.
