Pangti village gets new community hall

Wokha, October 2 (MExN): Nagaland Advisor for Horticulture and Border Affairs Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated Pangti Village Community Hall on September 30.

Speaking at the inauguration, Yanthan urged upon the village council to give due importance in education and medical sectors as many of these institutions. He said that if due care is not given; the government may discontinue the institutions owing to non-performance and low enrolment of students. 

According to a press release, he also called on the gathering to make use of the new building for the prosperity of the Pangti village community. He recalled that the village council had earlier forwarded an application seeking assistance to repair the old community building. However, upon inspection, it was discovered that the building was too old and irreparable, and as such, a proposal for the new building was put up. The building was completed in a short time of six months, he said, while lauding all those involved in construction and completion of the building.

Further, Yanthan noted the rich natural resources of the area and the recognition that Pangti Village has globally as the ‘Amur Falcon Capital of the World,’ and asked the people to tap into the available natural resources. The Doyang dam is one major facility which helps to raise the economy of various neighbouring village through tourism sector and supply of fish, he said, while adding that even the state government had recognized this potential. 

The Advisor lamented that he could not do much to achieve his visions in the constituency due to the global pandemic. However, he maintained that his entry into politics was with one goal and vision and the agenda was to bring maximum development and making the people a self reliant and economically sound through various programmes.

Calling on the community to exercise patience, he assured them that with their collective support, he would deliver equal development to all villages in his constituency.

He called the congregation to do away with all political differences stating that politics should be only a one day activity and the people need to come together and work closely with any elected legislators.

N Rakomo Jami chairman of Pangti village council while delivering a short welcome note appreciated the Advisor for his desire to bring development, while the Pangti village students union also acknowledged his service toward the community, the release stated.

Earlier unveiling of the inaugural plaque and ribbon cutting was done by Yanthan while Rev N Manglio Ngullie pastor of Pangti Baptist Church said the dedication prayer.
