Richard Belho: To all those who have passed their HSLC, HSSLC, Congratulations! You have made good use of your time and don't lose your momentum. The journey is just beginning.

To all those who have failed or unable to clear the exam for different reasons, Congratulations to you too! you have experienced the bitter realities of Life. Use the experience to propel you forward. Use the bitterness to whip up an anger inside you so that you can face the storms of Life. Instead of drowning yourself in selfpity, take this moment to reflect and see how you can improve yourself, strengthen yourself.

I believe HSLC, HSSLC are not the true examinations which determines your potential and ability to succeed in life but it shows partly your level of discipline, hardwork and your ability to memorise. Though this system of education is the 'colonial system of education' derived from the British Raj where students are taught to memorise and complete their education and later come back to apply for government jobs based on marks, sadly this is the only door through which most of us must pass through. However regardless of whether you pass or fail, take time to seek real education outside the system. Now you have information at your fingertips, utilize it.
Do not compare yourself with others but focus on developing your strength.

Don't waste your time in merrymaking and 'hangouts'
You have approximately 5-8 years of education left to determine your altitude in Life.
If you want to DREAM BIG, start working hard right away.
Think of yourself as an Elite Commando who is training to face the toughest situations in the world. Start training yourself today!

Atohoto Zhimo Naga: Dear parents of whose children passed HSLC & HSSLC. Congratulations to you too. I could feel the happiness you feel after you see your children passing out with beautiful colors, seeing them going a step ahead towards their dream and success. But remember to let them continue living their dreams. Don't let them live your dreams, don't force them to study science/arts/commerce/theology etc or doctor/engineer/accountant just because you wanted to become one but could not. Yes, you have worked hard to mould them, sacrificing your life, time and dreams for them but let them also live. Let them study what they want to. You might be thinking that they are too young to take these decisions but it doesn't mean that you should force them to become what they are not. Talk with them and give them career guidance. Let your child discover his/her inner self, his/her caliber and what he/she should do. Because if you let them go for Engineering when their dream was English Literature then they will never make it, even if they do they will never live life- real life.

Teach them how to take decisions. In bollywood movie, 3 Idiots, there was this line "If Sachin Tendulkar was forced to play Football then cricket, imagine where he would be now." You have done your part well, now give them a chance to make their own decisions. Life is only once, don't take chances to let your child live your dreams. Don't be selfish and selfcentered. Let them deycide and he/she will do whatever it takes.

Dear parents of whose children didn't make it this time.
Your child may be immature but they have feelings too. They realise that they have failed themselves and you as well. Don't discouage them, rather give them a chance to do better, encourage them to try. It's not the end of the world. Richard writes on TNB, "Congratulations to you too! you have experienced the bitter realities of Life." Everyone will come across failure, that is life. Don't worry and believe in your child.

Lastly, God has plans for each one of us. Pray and discover your destiny.

Kevisa Phira: Lets all go past the cliché of "Failures are the pillars of success" and fade back into reality
Your grades don't define the type of person you are
They don't hold the bar on your potential, your
capabilities and your capacity.
So don't feel down or disappointed.
And also, don't feel inferior to your friend who
scored more than you. It doesn't mean he's better
than you, it just means he worked harder, thus he
deserved it. No one is better than the next person
We all have vast untapped potentialities

Some braniacs aren't gifted equally in the field of
music or athletics. Similarly, you may have failed or
scored less, but on the flipside, you might be a gifted
singer/musician/athelic

Sincerely goes out to anyone who failed or wasn't
satisfied with their result.
We all got what we deserved
Share this and spread the word to your friends.

Hongnaw HA Konyak: Fact that will blow us up: Mathematics and Science Teacher of GHS,Longching have been on seriel leave for the last several years. Students enjoys the off periods each day. They never encountered with what Maths and science carries in its text. But, unexpectedly one of the 6 students who have appeared for last HSLC Examination got through. The credit goes to one fortunate sister alone, who made it happened. Wonder! She rocks. God Bless Hangkai Lungya.
Xav Rutsa: “Poor performances of government school in HSLC during last five years under DAN government revealed”

2010 HSLC Exams -11 Government Schools got “Nil” results. 2011 HSLC Exams -15 Government Schools got “Nil” results. 2012 HSLC Exams -17 Government Schools got “Nil” results.2013 HSLC Exams -26 Government Schools got “Nil” results. 2014 HSLC Exams - 24 Government Schools got “Nil” results. 2015 HSLC Exams – Will be How Much Again ???

Solia Hegeu: Many those who have commented above have explained the reason ...... but I will also like to add more.  There's no denying that some teachers are only interested in the salary rather than performing their duty, but let's take a look at the govt. They have enough to pay and please the bogus and backdoor appointees but the one selected through departmental exams are being denied even their salary.

Texts books and other material are never supplied in time.
The public/civil society etc never care about the problems faced by the institutions. Except to blame them on their failures.  Students in private institutions are send for private tution/extra coaching etc which shows how much the parents take part in educating the child directly or indirectly resulting in better results.

For those children in govt. Institution 6 hours in school is the only period of learning they have in a day. ...... and if in that 6 hours the teachers fail to install everything into the child. With even the slightest of negligence(either by the teacher or the student) it results in poor performance. Moreover inspite of all those shortcomings even if some govt. schools perform exceptionally well we never appreciate them, instead blame all the govt schools equally. Conclusion :attitude problem including teacher, student and the society as well.
