Longleng, April 8 (MExN): The Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), Lempong, Longleng led by the Executive Secretary Tialemba Phom visited DC office, Longleng and conducted a prayer meeting with the District Administration, Police, government officials and civil societies on April 8.
During the visit, Longleng Deputy Commissioner Shayung Phom highlighted the overall situation in the district with regard to COVID-19 and acknowledged the cooperation and support in the form of cash and kind, extended by the government agencies, civil society, churches and individuals. Stating that collective efforts are needed to contain the spread, he further appealed to the civil societies and the citizens to continue to extend their cooperation and support.
Lauding the consolidated efforts of the District Administration, the police and security personnel, government officials, NGOs and civil societies, PBCA Executive Secretary Tialemba Phom stated that “it is a time for us to unite and combat against the Coronavirus.” The power of the unseen God will bring victory through the power of prayer and discipline of the people, he said. He also stated that the people of Nagaland must be thankful to God because so far, no Nagas have been infected by the COVID-19 that has killed thousands of lives worldwide.
According to a DIPR report, EAC Yachem, Pichano Kikon and EAC Longleng, Ihoilung Chuilo highlighted the activities carried out by the District Task Force on COVID-19, the district administration, police, VGs, medical department and other government agencies and the civil societies. They also updated contribution and assistance from individuals and organizations.
Phom People's Council President Longdang Tenjem Phom also informed about the coordination and joint effort of the Government and civil societies. The DIPR report also stated that the medical consignment for Longleng district arrived on April 8.
