The Phek Basa Youth Organization (PBYO) today celebrated its golden jubilee at Phek Basa village under the theme “Youth Empowerment.”

Gracing the occasion as the special guest, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu stated that jubilee is truly a divine time to introspective the past and reconcile with friends, families, neighbours, even with enemies and not forgetting God.

“What is the use of all this jubilee if your attitude and behaviour remains the same?”, Azo questioned.

He said that one has to first undergo realization, then regret for all the wrong doings then repent and seek forgiveness from God.

Through this, he said, transformation and reformation in every human being will take place.

Azo stated that we are truly living in a very disturbing world filled with momentary and worldly possessions and atmosphere wherein we have to wisely choose what is best for us.
He challenged the gathering to change from within in order to make this world a better place to live in. “Let us celebrate jubilee in its true spirits and senses,” said.

Also stating that the past is a mixture of good and bad, the MLA said the good deeds should be remembered and cherished “but nevertheless the bitter past should not be recollected in order not to destroy a perfect future ahead.”

Earlier, act of blessings was pronounced by Phek Basa Baptist Church senior pastor Zhievesa Nienu.
Greeting was shared by Phek Basa Village Council chairman Razouhu Kezo while welcome address was delivered by PBYO president Thenusa Venuh.
