PDA reaffirms stand for ‘inclusive, honourable, acceptable solution’

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): The People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) today reiterated its appeal for an early resolution of the Indo-Naga political issue which should be inclusive, honourable and acceptable to the people.

This was asserted during a meeting of the PDA, comprising of the NDPP, BJP and independent parties along with legislators and senior party functionaries on October 28 in the State Banquet Hall, Kohima. The meeting was chaired by the Convenor, Chingwang Konyak and Co-convenor, Temjen Imna Along.

A press release from the PDA said it has always maintained a consistent stand all along on the Naga political issue. “We have never reverted back on collective decisions and policies, unlike others. The PDA coalition has always acknowledged the sentiments of the people and will continue to respect the wishes and desires of the people whom we represent,” it added.

It meanwhile endorsed to support the resolution of the Joint Legislators Forum (JLF), dated August 7, 2019. The August 7 resolution had affirmed to continue playing the role of an active facilitator to the ongoing peace process;  meet all stakeholders to cultivate a common voice; urge all sections of people to come forward under a spirit of unity and rise above all differences.
