DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): The Peace Channel Dimapur organized People Forum meetings at Viola Colony and Zeliangrong Village, Dimapur on February 15.
While addressing the gatherings, the resource person, Nepuni Paul Kolakhe, introduced the initiative of the Peace Channel in bringing women, students and youth to the forefront in promoting peace and a peaceful society. He stressed on an inclusive approach and called for all sections of the society to develop the concern for a visionary future.
It was also stressed that PFPs are participatory and sharing platforms. The forums are platforms where diverse subject matters and concerns are discussed, capacitated and trained, as such communities are drawn to the concern of humanity, respect, honesty and integrity from the perspective of individuals to families and in communities.
It was also highlighted that human beings will never be able to sustain themselves in the midst of “uncalled for social problems.” Kolakhe urged communities to come together to bring out various concerns and find solutions together on issues concerning their children and their own communities.
Pointing to the relevancy of the change of times in people’s lives, he also urged the parents present in the meetings to bring in new strategies of children education at homes and schools, also highlighting that children these days have developed a totally different adaptive atmosphere of teaching-learning approach.
He further drew attention to the coronavirus and urged the communities to stay away from misleading news on social media, while seeking medical attention as and when required.
