Peren Dist Task Force updates on MR Vaccination Campaign

Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): The District Task Force 2nd meeting for Measles & Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign Peren District was held at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, New Headquarter Peren on September 11.  

Officials of various departments from Chief Medical Office, School Education, Social Welfare, District Public Relations Office and Administration attended the meeting, informed a press release by Pezanguno Celine Secii, District Media Officer, CMO Office, Peren.

Chairing the programme, S. Tainiu Deputy Commissioner who is also the Chairman, District Task Force Committee said the outcome of the meeting should impact the overall performance of the programme that is to be carried out. She also highlighted that misconceptions, false rumors during and after the campaign are very important issues that needs to be taken care of.  

Dr. Nukshisangla, DPO, RCH/UIP gave a power point presentation on Measles & Rubella Vaccination Campaign held across the districts. She presented a recap of the 1st DTFI meeting minutes, and acknowledged the various departments for their help and support. Her presentation highlighted the MRVC preparedness activities completed so far, and the district target beneficiaries. The presentation also included the ongoing activities: parent teachers meeting, teacher student interactions sessions and capacity building meetings at the health units.  

Attending the meeting, Dr. Ushma, RRT WHO for Peren suggested to concentrate on some few big schools where parents could also be sensitized regarding the MRCV and clear their doubts and queries.  

The DC suggested that all vaccinators should be trained on AEFI and assured instructions and information will be sent out to all the village councils for miking and inform all the VDBs to tell the villages to accept immunization so that coverage is 100% in their villages.
