Kohima | October 9 : Parliamentary Secretary for social welfare, child & women development Chotisuh Sazo stressed on the need to acquire quality education in order to face the competitive world. In the modern society, quality education matter now, he said and called upon the students to give their best effort to face the competitive world. “We are living in the technological world today,” he said and challenged the people to equip with the latest technology to improve the economy and the educational system.
Releasing the souvenir of the Government High School Pfutsero on the occasion of golden jubilee celebration recently, Sazo, himself alumni of this school said the GHS Pfutsero established in 1961, has nurtured and produces several politicians, bureaucrats, social workers, missionaries, businessmen, intellectuals etc etc. “I am proud to see that this school has produced maximum number of political leaders, bureaucrats, social workers,” said MLA Deo Nukhu, advisor NRE, science & technology and art & culture, who also an alumni of this school.
As a student of Class X, Nukhu represented this school in the march past, debate and winning the prize in the prepared speech held at Tuensang in 1967 at the inter-High School tournament. Neiba Kronu, deputy chairman State Planning Board who was chief guest at the golden jubilee celebration said that he also once served as president of students’ union in GHS Pfutsero. “Let us pay respect and tribute to those pioneers for their meritorious services for all of us,” Kronu said. Phek deputy commissioner Mikha Lomi also saluted the founders who rendered their best service to bring education to the community.
