Phek bids farewell to outgoing SP Dr Pritpal Kaur Conferred Chakhesang name ‘Mutukhrülü’

Phek district accorded a farewell to outgoing Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra, outgoing Phek SDPO Khuza Jurry and Officer-in-Charge (O/C), PR Phek, Insp Avika K Labo at Phek town on August 18.

During the programme, Dr Kaur thanked legislators, the district administration, various departments, public leaders, police personnel and the people of Phek for their cooperation and coordination during her tenure.

She urged everyone to remain united and continue serving society with love, dedication and integrity.

As a special gesture of affection and appreciation, the Chakhesang community conferred on Dr Kaur the Chakhesang name “Mutukhrülü,” meaning one who is loved by everyone and who loves everyone. Her daughter was also given the name “Mululü.”

In a message, Nagaland Power and Parliamentary Affairs Minister K G Kenye said Dr Kaur had left behind “a remarkable record of dedicated service, professionalism and compassion” during her tenure.

“As the Superintendent of Police, she carried out her responsibilities with discipline, determination and integrity. She worked tirelessly to maintain law and order and to ensure the safety and security of the people,” Kenye said.

He added that her leadership had strengthened the police department and inspired officers and personnel under her command to perform their duties with greater commitment and dedication.

MLA and Advisor for Science & Technology Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu described Dr Kaur as one of the “sharpest, most innovative and dynamic IPS officers of the generation”.

“Brave, responsive and ever committed to the people, you have consistently led from the front, answering every call of duty with unwavering resolve, courage and clarity,” Azo said in his message.

He added that under her leadership, the entire district police force, including the DEF rank and file at the headquarters, witnessed a remarkable transformation.

Her presence, he said, “instilled a renewed sense of discipline, efficiency and professional pride across the ranks”.

Speeches were also delivered by DIG (Administration) Vekhosa; Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori; Chakhesang Public Organization president Vezuhu Keyho; Chakhesang Mothers’ Association president Zhonelu Tunyi; Chakhesang Youth Front president Kevesa Khamo; Chakhesang Students’ Union president Povozo Soho; and others.

Representatives from police units also spoke on behalf of the Officer-in-Charge, Pfutsero Police Station; SDPO Pfutsero; and Additional SP, Phek.

Well-wishers, including members of self-help groups, students, farmers, TOPs team members, Phek Flavours Society, ELPIS Society, coaching batch students and medical doctors, also shared words of appreciation and farewell.
