Photo exhibition on ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ held in Kohima

Kohima, March 13 (MExN): Regional Outreach Bureau under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kohima organized a photo exhibition on Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima on March 13.


Vetanule Demo, Officer on Special Duty and Liaison Officer, EBSB (Nagaland Chapter), Department of Higher Education, Nagaland was the special guest at the inauguration programme.


The two-day photo exhibition is showcasing the cultural, traditions, arts, monuments and cuisines of Madhya Pradesh, which is the partner State of Nagaland in the EBSB mission. 


Speaking on the occasion, Vetanule Demo said, EBSB is a national programme initiated by Prime Minister Narender Modi. Demo said, the paired states entered into a serious of Exchanged Programmes to learn each other’s language, literature, cuisines, festivals, cultural events, tourism and all other desired activities. She said following the engagement Matrix 2017 for Madhya Pradesh partnered with Nagaland, a team of Government officials from Madhya Pradesh led by the Additional Chief Secretary, visited Nagaland from 8th November to 10 November in 2017.


She informed that a joint consultative meeting was held with Nagaland State officials at the State Secretariat Conference hall on 9th November 2017, to deliberate upon the activities and action plan for implementation of EBSB programme. The joint meeting deliberated on the proposed action plan and finalization for joint implementation. Subsequently a wide range of mutual engagements were organised and conducted by the Department of Art and Culture Organised an Exchanged of Cultural Troupes.


Demo said that Madhya Pradesh Cultural Troupes also participated in the Hornbill Festival from December 1 to 10, 2017, a Nagaland cultural troupe participated in the Lokrang Festival held at Bhopal from 26th to January 30, 2018. Department of Tourism, Nagaland also organised a Cultural Exchange and Showcasing Indigenous Cuisines tour, while Nagaland Team participated in a promotional event organised by India Tourism at Bhopal from July 9 to 12, 2018. 


In connection with the EBSB Mission, Nagaland State Department of industries and Commerce, Organised Exhibition of Handloom and Handicraft, while the Department of Higher and Technical Education, organised Teachers and Students Exchange Programmes. Lauding the Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kohima for organizing the photo exhibition on EBSB, she said the power of visual arts to communicate will add to the knowledge of our partnered state Madhya Pradesh.
