After Dimapur, the Pink Bus service for women was introduced today in the state capital Kohima. City Pink Buses is a welfare programme for women and was first introduced in Dimapur in September this year.
The buses will run between prominent locations around Kohima ferrying women commuters. Two of these pink buses started plying Kohima’s roads this morning from Lerie CRPF camp to High school junction, Kohima. Locations to be covered by the buses include CRPF-BOC-old MLA Hostel junction, NST-Keziekie and Tinpatti-High School junction—the entire route coming to 7 kms. The charges per stoppage are set at: CRPF-BOC @Rs 5; CRPF-old-MLA Hostel/NST @Rs. 10; CRPF- Kezieke/Tinpatti @Rs. 15; and CRPF-High School junction @Rs. 20.
