Kohima, January 12 (MExN): As the Chang community celebrated Poang Lüm on January 12, Nagaland Governor R N Ravi greetings on the occasion.
“The festival marks the traditional celebrations of self-sufficiency by the Chang Community. It heralds the beginning of cultivation process and seeks blessings for a bountiful harvest,” the Governor wrote in his message.
He further stated that the festival advocates unity and friendship and aims at passing down the spiritual and cultural richness of the traditions of Changs to posterity.
Wishing happiness, good health and prosperity, the Governor also advised following COVID-19 protocols during the celebrations.
