Meluri, December 20 (MExN): Gracing the 58th general conference of the Pochury Students’ Union (PSU), the president of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Ninoto Awomi said, “commitment and the dedication with which you carry yourself forward out of your present situation will surely define you.”
Speaking at the valedictory session held on December 20 at Matikhrü Village under Meluri sub-division, a press release issued by NSF media cell, said Awomi stressed on the need to struggle hard in order to succeed. “Be consistent in your efforts and with great persistence and a right sense of direction you will attain success. The greater result you want in your life will depend upon the efforts you put in,” he said.
Awomi lamented that the Naga society is in a fragmented state. “Tribalism, faction-ism, departmentalism and clan-ism have destroyed the credibility of the Naga society. The inaction and the deafening silence of the educated youths have done more harm than good,” he added.
He said that “until and unless we come out from those shackles, we will soon corrode away in our false sense of pride and vanity.”
The president further encouraged the students’ community to “come out from the comforts of their homes and social media and take active participation in social activism, participate in public debates which concern their community, village and be an agent of change.”
Awomi was accompanied by Rite Khutsoh, Speaker NSF and Kegwayhun Tep, Education Secretary, NSF. Outgoing President PSU, Joyson Yitsüthu also presented a short speech on behalf of his outgoing executives. The valedictory prayer for PSU new office bearers was offered by Ngusie Pfithu, Youth Pastor.
