Police informs on traffic regulations for R- Day

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 24 (MExN): The Kohima and Dimapur Police have issued traffic regulations for Republic Day celebrations on January 26. 

A press release from the Kohima Police stated that only vehicles with CAR PASS ‘A’ (Red) and CAR PASS ‘B’ (Blue) will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with CAR PASS ‘C’ (Green) will drop their respective officers at the Main Gate and shall be parked outside the Secretariat Complex. 

Vehicles without car passes will not be allowed to enter the Secretariat Complex and shall be parked along the Assembly Secretariat road. 

No vehicles including two wheelers will be allowed to park by the roadside on January 26 from 6:00am onwards from Raj Bhavan - TCP Gate - Razhu Point – High School - New Secretariat Complex; and New CM official Residence, Phezoucha to New Secretariat Complex. 

It further stated that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7:00am, it added. The Kohima Police said that police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners.  

Meanwhile, a press release from the Dimapur Police stated that vehicle traffic in the road stretch from Tragopan Police Point till Newfield Check Gate will be restricted from 8:30 am till completion of the Republic Day celebration. 

Vehicles with Z and Y category car passes will be allowed entry from Tragopan Police Point/New Field Check Gate/ Only Z category car passes will be allowed entry inside DDSC Stadium. Normal traffic is set to be diverted towards Island Colony via Khermahal junction. 

It was also informed that vehicular traffic in all the major inter-state/inter-district entry/exit points under Dimapur district (Dellai/New Field/Chümoukedima check gates) will be restricted from 8:00 am till completion of the Republic Day celebration. 

The Dimapur Police added that medical emergencies will be exempted after subject for anti-sabotage checking.
