Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The State Level Convergence Committee on implementation of Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) on Wednesday, reviewed the convergence action plans in the state.
The review was to ensure concentrated efforts on improving the nutrition of targeted groups through multi-sectoral convergent action in the entire state, a DIPR report stated.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy in his official residence. The committee decided to make greater efforts to facilitate focused attention to core intervention from all the inter-sectoral action for reducing maternal and child malnutrition and anemia.
Addressing the high level meeting, the Chief Secretary observed that“Lot more needs to be done” and there should be clarity in the implementation of the Poshan Abhiyaan programmes. He said the State Convergence Committee needs to have regular meetings to ensure that implementation is carried down to the grass root level. He also emphasized on better inter-sectoral convergence for better service delivery.
High officials from line departments participated in the discussions to ensure that the National Nutrition Mission is effectively implemented, the report stated.
