Poshan Pakhwada in Zunheboto

Zunheboto, March 17 (MExN): A two week long Poshan Pakhwada programme was launched at Zunheboto Sadar ICDS Project at the CDPO office on March 8 with the main focus of increasing the participation of males for improving nutritional status.

Social Welfare, H&FW, RD-NSRLM, School Education, YR&S are the convergent departments implementing the programme which will culminate on March 22.

Some of the activities conducted at the Sector Level in the AWC were obtaining poshan pledge, stressing on the consumption of locally available nutritious fruits and vegetables, formation of Poshan Clubs and special focus on the newly married men and fathers-in-law, demonstration of hand washing, panchayat and youth leaders meetings etc.

At the Block level, a programme was held at Amiphoto Government Middle School on March 16. The AWW and AWH were assisted by Senior Supervisor, Benjamin Sema, who briefed the students and the teachers about the importance of good and healthy nutrition.

Senior Supervisor Innoto K Achumi administered the Poshan Pledge, and Block Co-Ordinator (Poshan) Mary, Anganwadi Workers and helper of Amiphoto AWC, led the demonstration of handwashing to the school children.
