Tuensang, March 17 (MExN): The Superintendent of Police, Tuensang on Tuesday stated that on March 9, Tuensang Police personnel on foot patrol duty intercepted one suspect and conducted a search during which 16 of SP capsules and 10 of Alprazolam tablets were recovered from his possession.
The accused was identified as C Ongmang (26 years) from Nyinem, Tuensang. Based on his statement, one raid was conducted at St John ‘A’ Sector , Tuensang at a house belonging to one Longkhangba (33 years), from Yimrup village, Tuensang, and recovered 47 SP capsules and 10 Alprazolam tablets from his possession.
The investigation team proceeded to Longkhim town where another raid was conducted at one suspected house belonging to one Mahendra Kumar (30 years) from Beluara. During the search 497 bottles of cough syrup and 18,950 SP capsules were also recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a regular criminal case vide Tuensang PS C/NO- 05/2020 U/S 22(a) NDPS Act r/w 13 DC ACT has been registered, the SP informed.
Restricted drugs are ‘SCHEDULE H’ drugs under Drugs & Cosmetics Act and needs proper record maintenance by proprietors under DC Act. Hence mandate was followed, the statement added.
