Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): The Peren Old Village Council (POVC) and Kipeuzang Village Council (KVC) has extended support to Ndang’s statement and regret the decision of the DPDB under the chairmanship of TR Zeliang held on November 8 to shift the offices to the extension site of the district headquarter.
POVC chairman Abibe and KVC chairman Ngauhangbe in a joint press statement said that firstly, there is no quarter or accommodation for the government to stay except tow or three office building; secondly, there is neither proper road connectivity nor conveyance to carry the government servant to their officers; thirdly, there is no electricity nor water facility which is the basic need for human survival. “Infact there is nothing at all in the secluded forested area for human dwelling. Even the employees will have to carry their own lunch to go to their work which is about 15 to 18 kms away from the preset site,” the statement added.
The chairmen also added that the mention site is not yet ready for human habitation as stated by Ndang. “So if the government is in a hurry to shift the offices, they should hash up with the developmental work and show progress in their work so as to make the place feasible for habitation with all the essential infrastructure and basic facilities available. Otherwise just the shifting is not at all logical and practical. For which the two councils vehemently oppose the decision taken by the BPDB,” the statement further added.
