Prostitution racket busted by Women Cell police

Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): Police personnel of the Women Cell (East Police Station) Dimapur, in a surprise raid, busted a prostitution racket from a hotel (Salma Hotel) at New Market on Tuesday, May 19. During the raid, carried out at around 12 pm five women involved in the trade and one man was arrested. The five women were identified by Women Cell police as one Riya (18 yrs) D/o a Momin Das of Silchar, one “Mrs” Rashmi (20 yrs) D/o Boru Prasad of Bihar, one Sultana alias Nazira D/o of Rovigul Islam of Nawgaon, one Salma begum D/o a Late Habir Ali of Nawgaon and one Feruza (22 yrs) D\o a Rushidul of Tezpur, while the man was identified as one Wahidul Islam S/o  Suraj Islam of Kikubari village, Nawgaon (Assam). They are all presently residing at New Market, Dimapur it was informed. Police also disclosed that  Sultana alias Nazira was previously arrested in a similar case and had also served a jail sentence.  

Women Cell police informed that two other women along with the manager of Salma Hotel managed to escape. The manager was identified as one Mushtaq whom it is learned is also a “pimp”. However police said that they will soon apprehend the manager as his whereabouts has been located. 

Meanwhile, it is learned that Wahidul Islam the “watchman” of the hotel  was employed as a “lookout” for the hotel.
