PTCSU rejoinder to Asst Professor

The Phek Town Chakhesang Student’s Union is hereby compelled to give a rejoinder against the News item that appeared on your esteemed local dailies dated 14th November 2011 stated by Assistant Professor Smti. Imtikokla Ozukum Phek Govt. College, Phek.
 1. Mrs. I.Ozukum has said that it is immaterial, illogical and unreasonable on our part to question her because she has earned her leave through sweat and tears. We would like to question and ask her to justify, how many days of earned leave is in your credit? College teachers earn only 10 days of earned leave in a year, for your information. So, with your date of joining service on 30-10-2000 till date, you would have earned hardly 110 days of leave. Does this make any sense to you? You have around 110 days of earned leave, whereas, you have already availed 248 days of earned leave, and still you are claiming ‘Entitled Leave’.
2. 4th Maternity leave; Consequent upon her delivery on 14th January 2011. She applied for 4th maternity leave.
(i) Principal forwarded her application on 28-02-11.
(ii) Director wrote back to Principal on 14-03-11.
(iii) Principal referred Director’s letter to Vice-Principal on 01-04-11.
During the period i.e. from January to May, the Director and the Principal took such a long time to correspondent between themselves that she already spent her maternity leave. Classes and exam were going on but she was never seen in the college during this period. She said, she was entrusted with only B.A-1(Eco.) class and so she attended the college only after B.A. result were out. Is this not a contravention to government’s standing order that she has to be present in the college campus for 5 hours daily and sign her attendance register?
3. Having absented herself, from February when the college re-opened, she was elusive. Adding more salt to the wound, she applied for commuted leave/medical leave on the plea that her maternity leave was rejected (after availing it already). We are astonished that, a class-1 Gazetted Officer and an educated intellectual will in advertently make such a silly mistake and later admit the fact. It sounds so stupid and hilarious.
4. In most of the cases of absence, you have stated that, you have applied leave and duly consented by the competent authority is a blatant lie and that, you are shifting blame and embarrassing your competent authority or can we assume that this is the modus operandi you have with your superiors?
5. Every human being has problems of their own, so, mama, don’t bring us to tears with your problems. Rather feel the tears and pains of your students who are starving to get some knowledge from you.
From the above consequences, the PTCSU once again would like to make it clear once and for all that the union has no intention to inflict any stigma or tarnish anybody’s reputation, but would like to uphold justice and interest of the students. The Union therefore, seeks clarification from the higher authority on her excessive leave and to immediately revoke her transfer order till justice is delivered to us.
