PTMA and ASU condemns alleged assault incident 

Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The Pfütsero Town Mothers’ Association (PTMA) has vehemently condemned the heinous crime meted upon the EAC Sakraba by an LDA of EAC Sakraba on March 12.

 


It is learnt that the LDA was deducting a sum of Rs. 100 from BLOs remuneration and when EAC Sakraba intervened to stop the deduction, the later physically assaulted the officer, stated PTMA president Zhonelü Tunyi and general secretary Sarhu Letro in a release. PTMA stated that the EAC being a dedicated and respectable officer, “We the Mother’s Association is very sad and humiliated to learn that the EAC was threatened and assaulted.” PTMA urged the concerned authority to award befitting punishment for the crime committed.

 

 

ASU: The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) condemned “the barbaric act of assault and attempt to murder” against EAC Sakraba by a staff member at Pfütsero on March 12 last.

 


The Union condemned “the beastly and inhuman act in the strongest term against his own officer who was doing her best to bring about transparency and fairness in the government system. These acts of physical assault will not be tolerated when the general public and intellectuals alike are trying to bring peace and changes in our society.”

 


ASU president Vizokho Zashiimo and general secretary Petekhrietuo Kiewhuo urged the concern authority to revoke the bail order and book the criminal (culprit) at the earliest and give befitting punishment as per the gravity of the crime.
