Kohima, February 7 (MExN): In connection with publication of Final Electoral Roll with reference to January 1 as the qualifying date, meetings were held in respective districts.
Kohima: Briefing the meeting, held on February 7 at ADC Office Chamber, Kohima, ADC Kohima Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, said that that Final Electoral Roll was very important for the electors as within a short period of time, Kohima district will be facing another election and urged the political parties, AEROs and BLOs to share the data with the respective electors and to checked the errors such as mismatched of photographs, names, age, address, gender etc. If there are any corrections to be made, continuous updation will be there.
She also informed that many new electors who have completed 18 years of age have been enrolled and requested them to checked and submit if death electors are found to be unreported for a fair election. She thanked the political parties, AEROs and BLOs for assisting in completing the Final Electoral Roll.
Tuensang: The Final Publication of E-Roll for Tuensang district in connection with Special Summary Revision 2020 conducted at DC Conference Hall Tuensang on February 7. The programme was conducted by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant.
ADC Tuensang Ajit Verma, highlighted of the routine purpose of the gathering. The programme was attended by representatives of every political parties of Tuensang where the final publication of E Roll was distributed to every political party.
Longleng: Addressing the BLOs and the political parties the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer M. Shayung Phom, during the meeting organised at DCs conference hall, Longleng on February 7 asserted that clean electoral roll is essential to conduct free and fair elections. Therefore, the DC & DEO exhorted the BLOs to discharge their assigned duties with utmost sincerity and honestly and at the same time also appealed to the political parties to extend fullest cooperation and support to the BLOs to have clean electoral roll in the district.
The DC also gave away the final draft publication of the E-Roll to the political parties. The meeting was attended by the BLOs and the political parties of the district.
Mon: Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS held meeting with the representatives of political parties from BJP, INC, NDPP, NPF and NPP on February 7 at DC conference hall, Mon in regard to the Final Publication of Electoral Roll.
During the programme, DC handed over the copies of draft publication of electoral roll along with soft copy to the political parties.
Assistant Election Officer & AERO Mon Chisho K Swu in a notification informed to all the concerned that, the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the 41 – Tizit A/C, 42- Wakching A/C, 43- Tapi A/C, 44- Phomching A/C, 45- Tehok A/C, 46- Mon Town A/C, 47- Aboi A/C, 48 – Moka A/C and 55- Tobu A/C has been prepared with reference to 01.01.2020 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
A copy of the said roll together with the said list of amendment has been published and will be available for inspection in his office, he added.
