This is in response to “Baseless allegations on Neutral Forces” in certain dailies by the respected Commandant, 90 Bn. CRPF posted at Bokajan. To substantiate and prove that the allegation was true and never baseless:-

(1)    That the said farmer Mrs. Surparani, a widow was only allowed by me to cultivate my land on humanitarian ground to save her from starvation, who was the sixth farmer to have cultivated my land. The earlier 5 (five) farmers who cultivated the same plot of land gave whatever my share which was on 50:50 basis till 2000 which I received even from the same farmer Suparani for 2 (two) years. However, for the selfish reasons best known to the Post Commander (Chittiagaon), B.M. (Assam) and the said widow after her several clandestine meeting with the Officers stopped giving me what was being given earlier.

(2)    That the matter was never resolved on crop sharing as stated in your attempted justification. It was suggested by the farmer to the Post Commander (Chittiagaon) and to the BM (Assam) that I would be given only 100 kgs for 2 (two) acres of my land. That was nothing but a humiliation and hence I outrightly rejected and which if the Commandant considered it as a case of settlement then what sort of neutrality he is talking about after depriving all my rights and his forces preventing the farmer to give me my share which she was doing before their interference in the matter. And if there was discussion earlier on crop sharing, it definitely proves that I was the owner of the land. Had it not been so there would not have been any question of crop sharing which itself is the proof for my ownership of the land. So then why did my share of crop that I had taken from the field was forcible taken at gun point by the CRPF at Chettiagaon?

(3)    On certain occasion i.e. on the 17th Nov. 2005, the then Post Commander at Chettiagaon had written to the Sector Commander (Rengmapani) to resolve the issue on priority but instead of taking up the matter the same letter was returned to me through the Dobashi (DB) attached to the BM (Nagaland). Having understood the intention of the Sector Commander to keep the issue pending to formant confusion and disturbance in the area for reason best known to him.

Again on the 24th Nov. 2005, I personally met the Commandant, 90 Bn. CRPF in his Hq. at Bokajan with a letter from the then BM (Nagaland) to resolve the matter amicably on urgent basis. I also requested him personally to resolve the issue to avoid problem like this.

This is not only a solitary case that I am going through but for the information of the respected Commandang of the 90 Bn. CRPF and the concerned authorities that justice is never to be found in the said land and neutrality said to be maintained in the area to usher in peace and tranquility is a thing of the past as highest degree of deprivation of our rights are being done in the name of delivering justice.

I am a mere farmer and depend fully on the returns/produces of the said land and it is evident that after having voiced my rights as stated earlier, I am being looked for. But I will not hesitate to assert my rights now or later in any official meeting organized by the concerned authority to resolve the matter.
