Mokokchung, May 7 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday said that relaxation of the lockdown in the state would be “in phased manner according to the outcome of the daily case report for our state since we were put under Green zone.” 


According to a DIPR report, the CM stated this while addressing a meeting held with officers and NGOs representing Ao Senden, Watsü Mungdang, AKM, ABAM, MTBA and all ward presidents at DC Bungalow, Mokokchung on May 7. 


Rio also informed that the state’s economy has “suffered” during the lockdown period and appealed all to “reconstruct the state economy by going back to the land and start producing.


“If we fail in our economy we will not survive simply depending in central grants alone. We all must work together and rescue ourselves,” he added. 


Rio along with Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and other cabinet colleagues visited COVID-19 Hospital Mokokchung. The CM inspected the arrangement and preparedness on all round medical and security in the District TB Hospital and Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) which were converted into District COVID-19 Hospital. At IMDH, Rio distributed relief package (food) to the daily wage earners and labourers.


Later in the day, the duo along with other colleagues also District Hospital Wokha.
