Release funds for IMDH road maintenance: Ao Senden urges CM

Mokokchung, November 22 (MExN): The Ao Senden on behalf of the people of Mokokchung has requested Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to intervene and ensure that funds pledged for the maintenance of Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) road, Mokokchung, are sanctioned immediately.

In an open letter on Tuesday, Ao Senden President Chubawati Longchar and General Secretary reminded the Chief Minister that an amount of Rs 1.7 crore was pledged for the IMDH road maintenance during the Twelfth Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on September 22, 2022.

While it was pledged that works would start as and when the working season arrives, “it is learnt that the pledged amount has yet to be sanctioned/released while the dry season has already arrived and two long months have already lapsed since the announcement was made,” the letter stated.

The Ao Senden also pointed out that the people of Mokokchung are growing impatient and anxious while several organizations are already voicing out in deep concern. The said road is indeed in a really bad shape that needs immediate maintenance, it said while calling on the CM to intervene and ensure that the pledged amount is sanctioned/released immediately.
