Report ground realities of Foothill Road progress, NFHRCC to R&B

DIMAPUR, MARCH 12 (MExN):  The Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to all concerned Executive Engineers of the PWD(R&B) to report the ground reality of the Foothill Road and not base their reports on assumptions.

The NFHRCC said this in a press statement today after it had convened a meeting on March 10. It informed that the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) had directed all divisional Executive Engineers to submit reports for clearance of the roadways and also to report any uncut portions along with budget estimates.

The NFHRCC also appealed to the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to provide fund to make the foothills road motor able “while waiting for the mega project as the Doyang Bridge construction is expected to be completed within the working season.”

This historic project should be operational under any circumstances at the earliest in the interest of the Naga public at large, the committee asserted.

It meanwhile resolved to conduct a meeting with all the apex tribal hohos along with the concerned department and the Ralan Area Lotha Hoho on April 17 at Dimapur to hammer out an amicable settlement with regards to some portions of the alignments. It therefore asked all leaders of apex tribal hohos to come in person for the meeting and not send substitutes.
