Kohima, February 4 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer, Kohima office along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare, NHM conducted Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp at Phenwhenyu Village Council Hall on February 4. 

During the inaugural function, Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, Dr Vezokholu Theyo mentioned that the target group, Children and Pregnant mothers are given priority and stressed on the community level where the VHC should take initiative for Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND) and to channelised for visit of Medical officer to the village round the clock. She informed the gathering that IMR & MMR has drastically reduced due to awareness. 

She spoke on the need for community participation to bring about sustainable health care services through their participation and active contribution.

According to a press release, during the camp, gifts and nutritional packages were distributed to fully immunized children and pregnant mothers; screening of Ante Natal Care (ANC) to 14 Pregnant Mothers; 21 Dental procedure; Malaria slides with 40 AYUSH – 32, Immunization – 2, NCD screening – 16; eye screening – 26, COVID Vaccination – 22 and Covid Testing – 11 were also done. Lab test were provided with free medicines and distribution of IEC materials.

Altogether, 126 people availed the services at the health camp. The press release stated that under the leadership of CMO, Kohima and all Program Officers, DPMU, SMO and team Tseminyu CHC and MO and team from Botsa PHC, the health camp was conducted successfully.
