•-NSF has kind of gone silent on this issue and the Nagaland government is holding up its shields and pushing forward with its arguments and justifications, since this is a free press let me try hold that shield formation moving ahead for a while with my own arguments. Let me list out my arguments:
1) Is E.AC a post like a peon, chowkidar or a bank security job to be given out of compassion? Aren't the E.A.Cs supposed to be the elite? To be filled by the best? Are these 10 posts to be given out of compassion just like that? You don’t think the quality and efficiency of the administration will be compromised by such hasty and short sighted steps?
2) Many people don't like to be posted in the outposts according to Lalthara, kind of agreed. But wait why are those energetic young eastern Naga N.C.S officers being posted in Dimapur and Kohima ? I can name same few, why aren't they posted in their home soil then?
3) Has Indian government ever reserved 10 I.A.S posts for the STs of northeast? Even during the height of Northeast Insurgency, I don't remember' the Indian government ever doing that for us 2 placate us. So why the magnanimity from the Nagaland government?
4) The Rengmas has only four N.C.S Officers so they are reserved one post too. My Rengma brethren, I am really sorry to hear that and I wish more people from your community get through this tough examination. But hey my question is, is it our fault? The rest of the advanced tribes? I guess they were not given a backward tag for a reason. It is infact a wake up call for the Rengma Students union and various village federating unions, more exhortation and a giant leap in the mind set needs to be done by our Rengma brethren. Bottomline: It’s no one’s fault, not the rest of us and partially not the government’s. But an E.A.C post given out compassion is not the solution.
Why these 10 E.A.C posts so precious for me?? Because three years I’ve been struggling hard; sacrificing so many things n sweating out to get through the N.C.S Exam n God willing I will pass the Interview stage this year n become a civil servant. People like me, will not listen 2 the argument given by the government. It is amateurish; their argument!
